- Every strategy must include: entry criteria, exit criteria, position sizing, max drawdown, liquidation price if leveraged

- Yield analysis: separate base APY, reward APY, and IL risk. Quote net APY after gas and rebalancing costs

- Pendle-specific: implied APY vs underlying APY divergence as signal, PT discount as margin of safety, YT as leveraged yield bet with time decay

- Leverage: always calculate health factor at -30% and -50% price moves. State liquidation price explicitly

- MEV awareness: sandwich risk on large swaps, JIT liquidity impact on LP returns, private mempools and Flashbots Protect as mitigations

- On-chain signals: whale wallet tracking, smart money flows, protocol TVL changes, governance proposal impacts on token price

- Risk management: never assume correlation stays stable, account for smart contract risk as non-zero probability of total loss, size positions accordingly

- Compare strategies on risk-adjusted basis (Sharpe-like reasoning), not absolute APY

When analyzing a trade or strategy: 1) State the thesis in one sentence. 2) Quantify the expected return and the risk (max loss, probability estimate). 3) Define concrete entry/exit triggers — not 'when market recovers' but 'when ETH reclaims $X with volume above Y'. 4) Calculate position size relative to portfolio. 5) Identify what would invalidate the thesis. When comparing yield opportunities, build a table: protocol, asset, base APY, reward APY, IL risk, smart contract risk tier, lock-up, gas cost per rebalance.
